I’d really love to take our kids when we go, but that definitely adds to the cost! And limits the options we can stay, as so many places are 4 people or less.
I really enjoyed this glimpse into your thoughts, Malinda! All or any of the things that might come up over coffee. My closest friend is also long distance, and we are friendship-over-text for now and I often realize there are Big Things I haven't told her, and I don't like that feeling at all. I was reading in Ross Gay's book Inciting Joy this morning, and he talks about the friend "through whom I have come to recognize myself--I recognize myself because he recognizes me"... and I miss the ease of that with my best friend. I long for it again.
