This is moving, Malinda. What an incredible sentence/concept, sadness as permanent ink. Makes me think about the role our sorrows plan in making us who we are. Then I think about the Man of Sorrows, and how that's part of His identity. Wow.
Yes! I can get so low in countenance that I just don't want to feel sorrow anymore...but lately I just keep thinking of the hymn "Man of Sorrows" and how that's PART of knowing Christ as my savior.

So, so good. Tears are flowing down my cheeks in solidarity and Joy in Christ's redemption.
