Having lived in a climate without snow for 65 years, I am now loving the snow!! I understand the issues it presents for some (sorry my dearest Caryl) but for me, the beauty outweighs the problems. We have been blessed to have a neighbor and family "dig us out" as well as do our grocery shopping for us. So I've been able to sit at my window, in awe of the beautiful landscape before me from the comfort of my home. I've learned to dress in multiple layers and walk "like a penguin". If it's going to be this cold there might as well be snow!

It's funny how sometimes people make the assumption about me that just because I LIKE snow/winter, I'm not really aware of the problems it can bring. Like you, I'm aware, but I still really love it! It makes me feel happy :) I'm glad to find someone else who enjoys it!

I've not been so happy with this snow, mostly because it was proceeded with ice. For old people like me, I didn't go anywhere, it was dangerous and that I did not enjoy. Then my family was here from California and we were unable to get together as often as we would have wished.

It was beautiful, however. But now the drifts are covered with black dirt where the city has had to make it possible to drive. I'm glad it's melting.

I can see how that would be frustrating! We had to cancel a family gathering too, but it's much easier to reschedule because we all live within a couple hours of each other...much harder when it's people from out of state!

It’s lovely to look at the snow but when I need to drive to another town 3 times per week and then trundle my rolling back pack across a large parking lot to teach my classes, I will be happy when the snow is all gone. lol

I hope the college has taken care of its sidewalks! We went to a basketball game at another school last week, and with construction the main entrance was unavailable. They hadn't cleared sidewalks from other directions to the temp entrance, and we ended up traipsing through snow and over drainage pipes since we didn't know the layout. We felt like we were breaking and entering. HAHA!
